Too much info to list in this one blog!

AU 2014 was great this year!!! A lot of great information was learned, exchanged, and many wonderful people were met! Well done Autodesk on another successful year. There are some great things I can share with you, and some even more amazing things I cannot share with you :(

The big picture this year was mainly about collaboration.

The things I CAN share

1) Autodesk Subscriptions:

  • Now with your Autodesk Subscription you will be able to download any software that Autodesk makes.

What does this mean for us? Subscription price will likely go up, but it will mean more tools at our disposal without a suite or individual program tieing us down without the ability to explore more. The details of this news is still being worked out, and more news will come I am sure, as this was a surprise for many of the Autodesk workforce I talked to at AU.

2) Autodesk software made free:

  • Now All software is free

  • Any Student

  • Any Teacher

  • Any Institution

  • Anywhere

All I can say, is that this is simply a brilliant marketing campaign on their part. Just think......with all the free Autodesk software in Grade Schools, Jr High Schools, High Schools, Colleges, Vocational and Tech Schools......I think we may quickly see a design world heavily influenced by Autodesk (which in my opinion, is not a bad thing).

3) Free 1 year subscription to A360 Team Collaboration

  • Branching and merging

  • Simultaneous Collaboration

  • On any platform, On any device

The A360 team had a lot of sweet free swag to hand out too. They had a wear it to win it, where if they caught you wearing their swag, you won prizes..not sure what...but rumors say up to $500.00 cash!

4) Autodesk A360 Collaboration for Revit

Autodesk A360 Collaboration for Revit connects project teams with centralized access to BIM project data in the cloud. Stay connected in real time using the Communicator chat tool within models. With Revit software and Autodesk A360 integration, Collaboration for Revit enables the entire project team to work on shared building information models.

The demo of this was amazing!! Only bad thing is this will not be part of your Payed A360 Team account nor the Payed Subscription access to all software, but they have made it very affordable, just like A360 Team.

The things I CAN'T share

All i can say is that the way in which the Architectural industry play's its game is about to change drastically!! Unfortunately, I had so sign a NDA..so my lips are sealed for the moment.

Giggety, Giggety, Goo!!!!!!!!

Stay tuned For more AU2014 Updates.
